Understanding How Distributed Work Changed Collaboration

The engagement

IT decision-makers share responsibility for security, collaboration and technology investment, but their priorities vary by industry and business environment. Dropbox wanted a broad view of the IT buyer landscape that could also support more focused conversations with individual sectors.

The research approach

The sample included 500 respondents in the United States and 500 in the United Kingdom. Participants worked at organizations with at least 250 employees and held primary or shared responsibility for technology decisions. The questionnaire and sample were designed with industry analysis in mind.

From findings to impact

Dropbox used the findings in The Landscape of IT Decision Makers Study, company blog content and gated industry reports. Dedicated assets let Dropbox discuss technology priorities in the language and context of sectors such as technology and construction.

Highlighted result

One study of 1,000 IT decision-makers across more than 30 industries became multiple audience-specific content assets.

Methodology

The independent study was conducted by CITE Research and commissioned by Dropbox. It surveyed 1,000 IT decision-makers—500 in the United States and 500 in the United Kingdom—at organizations with 250 or more employees.
