The engagement
Artificial intelligence was entering the workplace, but the employee perspective — which tasks workers actually wanted to hand off to AI — was rarely measured. ABBYY wanted independent evidence about the tasks employees found least desirable and their openness to AI-assisted automation.
The research approach
CITE Research surveyed 2,000 working U.S. adults on the tasks they would most like to delegate to AI, their attitudes toward workplace automation and the types of work they preferred to keep doing themselves.
From findings to impact
The research found that workers wanted to delegate 48% of their tasks to AI, with data entry, electronic filing and attending meetings among the most frequently cited. ABBYY used the findings to support its product narrative and media programme.
