Cribl

Tracking Security Data Management and Budget Priorities

The engagement

Security teams were managing growing volumes of data across an expanding set of tools, while also facing pressure to justify investment during periods of economic uncertainty. Cribl needed independent evidence about how organizations were approaching data management strategy and where they were prioritizing security spending.

The research approach

CITE Research conducted two studies for Cribl. The first surveyed 1,000 senior IT and security decision-makers on data management strategy sustainability, tool proliferation and the convergence of IT and security operations. The second surveyed 250 IT and security professionals with budget authority on cybersecurity investment priorities, automation adoption and vendor consolidation.

From findings to impact

The 2022 study became the foundation of Cribl's State of Security Data Management report. The 2023 study provided Cribl with timely evidence about how security teams were managing budgets during economic uncertainty, supporting the company's content and demand-generation programme.

Highlighted result

Two studies — 1,000 senior decision-makers on data management and 250 budget holders on investment priorities — gave Cribl a recurring evidence base for its security narrative.

Methodology

CITE Research conducted two surveys on behalf of Cribl: one among 1,000 senior IT and security decision-makers in 2022, and one among 250 IT and security professionals with budget authority in 2023.
