The engagement
Observability was becoming increasingly important to software performance and digital-business operations, but organizations differed widely in their adoption, practices and understanding of its value. New Relic wanted rigorous global research that could establish the state of the category and explore where it was heading.
The research approach
The study combined practitioners who worked with technology day to day with leaders responsible for organizational priorities and investment. Its international footprint included markets across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific, giving New Relic a broad view of observability adoption and expectations.
From findings to impact
New Relic introduced the findings as the industry’s most comprehensive global research on observability at the time. The data became the foundation of its Observability Forecast and provided evidence for company content, executive communications and technology-media coverage.
Highlighted result
Nearly 1,300 technology professionals across 16 countries contributed to a global category benchmark.
Methodology
CITE Research conducted the online survey on behalf of New Relic. The sample included 1,295 software engineers, developers, IT leaders and executives across 16 countries.
