The engagement
As observability became more important to software and IT teams, Observe/Snowflake needed a consistent way to measure the category’s maturity, challenges and business value. A single survey could provide a snapshot; a recurring program could reveal how the market was changing.
The research approach
CITE Research worked with Observe/Snowflake to maintain a consistent core across annual studies while addressing market developments. The research examined the challenges teams encountered, the benefits associated with observability and the stages organizations passed through on their journey.
From findings to impact
The annual reports gave Observe/Snowflake a repeatable thought-leadership asset and a reason to re-engage its audience with new findings. Observe/Snowflake later extended the program into security observability, surveying 500 full-time security decision-makers and practitioners.
Highlighted result
Three annual observability studies and a 500-person security-observability study created an ongoing thought-leadership platform.
Methodology
The State of Observability editions surveyed 250 IT and software-development professionals per wave. The inaugural State of Security Observability study surveyed 500 full-time security decision-makers and practitioners.
