The engagement
As remote and hybrid work expanded, employers faced a new problem: employees could work from locations their organizations did not know about. That created consequences for tax, immigration, payroll, compliance and talent strategy.
The research approach
The research combined employee experiences with the perspectives of HR professionals at international organizations. That design allowed Topia to compare workforce behavior with organizational policies, visibility and preparedness.
From findings to impact
The studies gave Topia proprietary data about the operational and human implications of working from anywhere. Findings addressed employees’ willingness to change jobs for flexibility, unreported work locations and the potential legal and tax exposure created when organizations lacked workforce visibility.
Highlighted result
Research with employees and HR professionals turned an emerging compliance issue into an ongoing workforce narrative.
Methodology
CITE Research conducted an Adapt study on behalf of Topia among 1,481 full-time office workers in the United States and United Kingdom. Additional Adapt waves used sample specifications tailored to each edition.
